CHCA senior guard Luke Sanders is currently leading the MVC in scoring, averaging 21.4 points a game. He has already scored 1,000+ points in his great varsity career and is the school's all-time leading scorer.
His top games so far this season include scoring 29 points vs. Tri-Village, 29 points vs. Roger Bacon, 28 points vs. Highlands, 23 points vs. Williamsburg, and 22 points vs. Summit Country Day. He set a school single-game scoring record his junior year when he scored 40 points in a game vs. Taft.
He averaged 26 points and five rebounds per game last season while shooting at a better than 50% clip from the field. As Cincinnati's leading scorer, he led the Eagles to a 16-8 record on the season and a Miami Valley Conference-Scarlet division co-title. He made 45 3-pointers last season.
Luke as a junior earned many honors. He was MVC Player of the Year, Cincinnati Enquirer Div. III Player of the Year, first-team all-Ohio Div. III and first-team all-district. He was also a second-team All-American by the National Christian Schools Association.
A National Honor Society student who is a recipient of a National Community Service Merit Award, Luke plans on playing basketball at the next level but has not yet made his college commitment. He also plays basketball for the Team Wildcat club team.
His favorite athlete and most-like-to-meet is Stephen Curry and his favorite entertainer is Ja'Marr Chase.
