It seems as if Purcell Marian senior Dee Alexander has been dominating the girls' high school basketball scene forever. She has scored 2,348 career points and led her team to four straight Ohio state championships, a feat accomplished only by four teams in Ohio high school history. She has scored more career points than any other player in school history, girl or boy.
Among her many awards are being named a McDonald's high school All-American, a three-time Ms. Ohio Basketball winner, and the reigning LaRosa's female Athlete of the Year. For three straight years, she has been named MVC Player of the Year, Cincinnati Div. II/II Player of the Year by the Enquirer and Ohio Div. II/III Player of the Year. She has been named SWO District 16 Player of the Year four straight years. Additionally, she was Gatorade Ohio Basketball Player of the Year two years in a row. Even better, Greater Cincinnati will continue to see Dee Alexander's exceptional skills and talent on the court as she has committed to playing her college basketball at the University of Cincinnati.
Success began early for Dee Alexander; her freshman year, she set a school record for single-game scoring when she put up 49 points (to go along with 15 rebounds) in a win vs. McNicholas. Her junior season, Dee scored a school-record 682 points and led Purcell Marian (29-1) to a third consecutive Ohio state title.
Recognized as one of the best high school players in the United States, Dee was invited to participate in the 2024 USA Basketball Women's U17 National Team trials in Colorado Springs. During the summer of 2023, Dee was a member of the USA Basketball U16 National Women's team that won a gold medal at the FIBA Americas Championships in Merida, Mexico.
A good student who is active in community service, her favorite athlete is Steph Curry, favorite movie is Moana and most-like-to-meet is Kobe Bryant.
