One of the area's best basketball players is Lakota East senior Trey Perry, who scored 1,600+ career points, second-most in school history, and had another all-star campaign in his senior year. He led the GMC in scoring average (22.1 ppg.) and assists (4.2 apg.) and was named GMC Player of the Year and first-team all-SWO District with more honors to follow. The Thunderhawks finished as regional semi-finalists, going 17-8 on the season.

Big scoring games for Trey this past season included those vs. Middletown (36 points), Westerville Central (35 points), Springfield (34 points), Fairfield (34 points), Oak Hills (31 points), Sycamore (30 points), and Colerain (29 points).

Trey also had a great junior campaign when he averaged 23 points a game to go along with 3.4 rebounds per game and 2.8 assists per game and was named first-team all-GMC, first-team all-city (Enquirer), first-team all-SWO District, and third-team all-state. He was also a finalist for the Cincinnati Enquirer's All-Star Awards' Basketball Player of the Year.

A good student who is active in community service, he has committed to play at the next level at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He also plays for the Midwest Basketball Club team. In his spare time, he enjoys hanging with family, deep conversations, playing golf, and binge-watching Netflix.

His favorite athlete is Usain Bolt, favorite entertainer is Kai Cenat, favorite book is Mamba Mentality by Kobe Bryant, favorite movie is Black Panther and most-like-to-meet is Drake.
