Cincinnati Country Day senior Piper Farris is a three-sport athlete
who excels in soccer, basketball and softball, and already has one
Ohio state championship to her credit.
In soccer, Piper is a forward and midfielder, and, in her junior
season, she had 24 goals (second in the MVC) and 15 assists (third in
the MVC) for 63 points (second in the MVC), helping her team to a
19-5-0 season, a fifth straight MVC Scarlet championship as well as an
Ohio state Div. III championship. It was the girls' third state title
in program history. Piper was named first-team all-MVC Scarlet and
first-team all-city Div. III by the Enquirer.
She has 60 career goals, 56 assists and 176 points and has committed
to play at East Carolina University. She had a big game this season in
a 4-1 win over Roger Bacon when she had a three-goal hat trick plus an
assist for seven points. She also scored a hat trick in a 6-0 win over
Seven Hills.
In basketball, Piper averaged 4.2 points a game with 4.5 rebounds per
game and 2.2 steals per game, and was named honorable mention
all-conference. The team went 19-6 last season and made it to the
regional semifinals while making it to the state Final Four for the
first time in school history in her sophomore year.
A catcher in softball, Piper in her junior year hit .571 with 12 RBI
and eight stolen bases. Unfortunately, she got mono halfway through
the season but still was named first-team all-MVC and first-team
all-city Div. IV (Enquirer).
A great student who is active in community service, Piper also plays
soccer for the Kings Hammer club team. Her favorite athlete is Alex
Morgan, favorite entertainer is Pitbull, favorite book is The Hate You
Give, favorite movie is 5 Feet Apart, and most-like-to-meet is Michael
Jordan.
COACH'S QUOTE – "Piper is a complete student-athlete who excels
in three sports and in the classroom. Her incredible athletic ability
and competitiveness continue to push her to achieve at the highest
level. She continues to get better and better!"
