Moeller has one of the area's top baseball players in senior Kellan
Klosterman, who already has one state championship (last season) with
the Crusaders and this season was rated as the #3 high school player
in the state of Ohio by Prep Baseball Report.
Moeller High School's baseball team is the top-ranked team in Division
I in the statewide coaches' poll. So far, Kellan this season on the
mound has a 2-1 record with a 1.67 ERA, striking out 26 batters in 21
innings pitched.
As a junior for last year's state champs, Kellan had a 4-1 record on
the mound with one shutout and a 2.42 ERA. His 53 strikeouts was
second-most in the GCL-South. He struck out that many batters in only
37.2 innings pitched. Moeller had an overall record of 31-3, winning
the GCL-South championship with an 8-1 record. He was first-team
all-GCL South and first-team all-city Div. I (Enquirer). A big moment
came this season when he pitched a complete-game 2-0 shutout over the
always-tough Olentangy Orange, allowing just one hit while striking
out nine.
A great student with a 4.33 GPA and with over 60 hours of community
service to his credit, Kellan will continue his baseball play
collegiately at the University of Notre Dame, where he also plans to
study political science. Kellan is bi-lingual in English and Spanish
and, in his spare time, enjoys movies and hanging out with friends.
His favorite athlete and most-like-to-meet is Spencer Strider,
favorite entertainer is Damien Chazelle (Director), favorite book is
The Road by Cormac McCarthy and favorite movie is Whiplash. His summer
baseball team is the Bo Jackson Elite club.
