Senior John Podojil is a three-sport athlete at Indian Hill High School in track, basketball and football.

John enters this track season as the reigning sectional champion in the 100 and 400 running events. He was also last season's sectional runner-up in the 200 dash and on the sectional runner-up 4x400 relay team. He was the Div. II regional champ in the 100 dash in a school-record 10.98 and the 400 in a school-record 49.34 and was a member of the 4x400 relay team that won that event in a school-record time of 3:25.26. He set another school record this season at the Ohio state indoor track & field championships in the 60m in 7.04 to finish seventh.

Last season, he had the top times in the CHL in the 100 dash in 10.68, the 200 dash in 22.56 and the 400 dash in 49.34. He is a six-time CHL champ, five-time district champ, four-time regional champ and a three-time state qualifier in track events. At the 2023 Ohio Div. II track & field championships, he was sixth in the 100 dash and tenth in the 400 run.

John, who is the reigning CHL Track Runner of the Year, was named first-team all-city in Div. II by the Enquirer, and has been all-Ohio three times. He owns five school track records and was a finalist for Cincinnati Track Athlete of the Year by the Cincinnati High School Sports Awards.

A basketball point guard, John, a four-year letter winner, this past season averaged about six points per game and was a 73% free-throw shooter. His 4.5 assists per game ranked second in the CHL. He was second-team all CHL and was invited to play in the Ohio District 16 high school all-star games.

A football quarterback and defensive back, John overcame injuries to lead Indian Hill to a 9-3 record and the 2023 CHL championship, part of the team that snapped the Wyoming Cowboys state-record, regular-season 75-game winning streak. On the season, he passed for 763 yards and eight touchdowns while rushing for 86 yards and two TDs. He was honorable mention all-CHL.

A good student who is active in community service, John will continue his track competition next year at Miami University in Oxford. His favorite athlete is Nick Chubb, favorite entertainer is Cody Johnson, favorite book is Never Finished by David Goggins, favorite movie is Top Gun Maverick and most-like-to-meet is Tom Brady.
