Elder senior Drew Ramsey is a multi-talented football player who has
played wide receiver, quarterback, punter and, at times, defensive back.
He enters his senior season with impressive career stats - 1,040 rushing
yards, 18 rushing touchdowns, 116 receptions, 1,395 receiving yards, 13
receiving TDs, and 31 total touchdowns
In his junior campaign, Drew rushed 129 times for 721 yards and 14
touchdowns and also had 55 receptions for 762 yards and eight
touchdowns, plus on defense he had four solo tackles, a sack and a
forced fumble. He had numerous big games, including vs. Moeller (four
TDs, two rushing, two receiving). In Elder's first-round playoff win
against Fairfield, Drew rushed for 188 yards and four touchdowns while
also catching six passes for 120 yards to help the Panthers rally from
11 down in the fourth quarter for a 42-39 victory. For his efforts, he
was named GCL South Co-Player of the Year, first team GCL South, first
team all-city (Enquirer) and second team all-Ohio. Elder finished 5-4
with a regional semi-final appearance.
A good student who is active in community service, Drew will play
football at the next level but has not yet selected a college. Drew is
from a football family - his father Doug is Elder's head coach and his
brother Peyton played QB at Indiana University and Northwestern.
His favorite athlete is Drew Brees, favorite entertainer is Dwayne "The
Rock" Johnson, favorite book is Through My Eyes by Tim Tebow and
most-like-to-meet is Matthew McConaughey.
