A four-year varsity player at guard, Indian Hill senior Ella Riggs has
helped her team to the CHL conference title for four straight years. She
joined the 1,000+ point club last season and is the school's all-time
leading scorer (1,638 and counting) as well as the all-time leading
girls' basketball scorer in CHL history.
Her junior season, Ella succeeded in filling the top of the stat sheet.
She was first in the CHL in scoring (22.4) and field goal percentage
(59.3), third in rebounds (7.8), fourth in steals (3.1) and tied for
fifth in assists (2.4). Her top games included those against Wyoming (36
points), Madeira (30 points), Finneytown (29 points) and New Richmond
(29 points).
She has earned numerous honors. She has been named first-team all-CHL
three times and was last season's CHL's Player of the Year, first-team
all-city Div. II, first-team SWO District Div. II by the coaches and
special mention all-Ohio.
Ella led the league in scoring again this regular season, averaging 21.3
points per game for the Braves who went undefeated (14-0) in league
play. She netted 33 points vs. Norwood, 30 points vs. Port Charlotte, 29
points vs. Taylor, 29 points vs. McNicholas, 29 points vs. Wyoming, 28
points vs. Roger Bacon, and 26 points vs. Wyoming and Summit Country
Day. She also led the CHL in field goal percentage (58.6%). She was
named CHL Player of the Year this season for the second straight year.
A super student with a 4.69 GPA, she also plays basketball for the
Cincinnati Angels club team. She will play basketball collegiately at
Furman University.
Her favorite athlete is Stephen Curry, favorite entertainer is Juice
WRLD, favorite book is Hidden Figures, favorite movie is The Purge and
most-like-to-meet is Kim Kardashian.
