St. Xavier senior Kobe Rodgers turned in an impressive senior season,
averaging about 18 points a game to go along with seven rebounds and
three assists per game. He helped lead the Bombers to a GCL-South
tri-championship and a district championship. He finished the regular
season second in the league in scoring (18 per game), second in
rebounding (7.2), second in assists (3.5) and first in steals (2.7).
Top scoring games included vs. La Salle (26 points), Middletown (26
points), Isa Osborne (25 points), and Elder (24 points, twice.) Kobe
came up big when the Bombers beat Huber Heights Wayne to win the
district title. He scored 17 points in that game, plus had seven
rebounds and five assists.
Kobe earned numerous honors, including being named GCL Co-Player of the
Year, SWO District Div. I Player of the Year and first team all-state
Div. I.
An academic honor roll student who is active in community service, Kobe
also plays for the Cincinnati Royals/Shining Stars club team, and will
play collegiately at Nova Southeastern University in Florida.
His favorite athlete is Derrick Rose, favorite entertainer is Robert
Downey Jr., favorite book is Percy Jackson & Olympians -- The Lightning
Thief, favorite movie is Remember the Titans and most-like-to-meet is
Michael Jordan.
