Women's national soccer team
A two-sport athlete in soccer and basketball, Lakota West senior Kailyn
Dudukovich is a soccer high school All-American, an international
champion, an Ohio state champion and a player that the Girls' Soccer
Network called one of the top five high school soccer players in the
nation in the 2021 class, while Top Drawer Soccer rated her as the #3
soccer forward in the nation in the 2021 Class.
In 2018, Kailyn was a member of the USA Under-16 girls' national team,
helping lead the team to an international title at the Torneo Delle
Nazioni tournament in Italy. She scored four times in an 8-0 victory
over Iran.
During the Firebirds' high school season-to-remember last year, Kailyn
helped the team to a 22-0-2 record and an Ohio state championship, the
Firebirds' first state soccer title since 1999. Kailyn came through in
the clutch with two goals in the state championship game, including the
game-winner with 13 seconds to go, to secure a 2-1 victory over Anthony
Wayne. She scored a remarkable 50 goals during the season, a Lakota and
GMC single-season record. She also chipped in nine assists, so for the
year, she accounted for 109 points, also a school and conference record.
She holds at least a half dozen other records. The Firebirds' team last
season finished as the #2 rated team in the nation by USA Today. Kailyn
also plays for the Ohio Elite soccer club.
Kailyn has won numerous honors for her stellar play. She was named a
soccer All-American, Ms. Ohio Soccer, Gatorade Ohio Soccer Player of the
Year, Ohio Soccer Player of the Year by the coaches' association, SWO
District Player of the Year, GMC Player of the Year and 1st team
all-state. She was also named by the Cincinnati.com Sports Awards' as
Soccer Player of the Year as well as the girls' overall Athlete of the
Year. Kailyn will stay in-state to play her soccer collegiately at the
Ohio State University.
Kailyn also played basketball for the defending GMC champion Firebirds.
Her junior year, she averaged 15.3 points, 5.8 rebounds a game. Big
games included those vs. Middletown (25 points), Springfield (23
points), Hamilton (22 points), Western Hills (22 points), and Lakota
East (21 points). She was named first team all-GMC, GMC Defensive Player
of the Year, honorable mention all-city Div. I by the Enquirer, and
honorable mention all-SWO District.
A super student (4.76 GPA) and member of National Honor Society, she is
very active in community service. Her favorite athlete is Michael
Jordan, favorite entertainer is Kevin Hart, favorite book is Above the
Line, favorite movie is The Blind Side and most-like-to-meet is Ellen
DeGeneres.
