Entering his senior season, Lakota East all-star basketball player Nate
Johnson already has accumulated solid stats. In his varsity career, he
has scored 592 points, pulled down 213 rebounds and dished out 203
assists.
Last season, Nate helped lead the Thunderhawks to a second straight GMC
championship, going 25-2 overall and 15-1 in league play. Nate averaged
16 points a game, with 3.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.3 steals per
game. He was second in the GMC in both assists and steals.
Nate is playing strong again this season with numerous big double-digit
scoring games, including vs. Fairfield (30 points), Mason (25 points),
Lakota West (20 points) and Hamilton (18 points).
He earned numerous honors his junior year, including being named GMC
Player of the Year, 1st team all-city (Enquirer), first team all-SWO
District and second team all-Ohio. He was also named District 15
Underclassman of the Year and was a Cincinnati.com Sports Awards'
finalist for Big School Basketball Player of the Year.
Active in community service, Nate also plays for the Midwest Basketball
Club. He has committed to play basketball collegiately at the University
of Akron. His favorite athlete is Derrick Rose, favorite entertainer is
Rod Wave, favorite book is The Crossover, favorite movie is The
Christmas and most-like-to-meet is Derrick Rose or Chris Brown.
