Highlands' senior Max Farris is a first team all-state soccer player who
the Enquirer this preseason named as one of the Top 10 NKY Soccer
Players to Watch in the class of 2021. He was named to this season's 9th
region all-tournament team after leading the Bluebirds to the semifinals
and finishing 10-4-2. Max finished the season with nine goals and four
assists (22 points).
His junior year, playing left wing, Max scored 12 goals with eight
assists for 32 points, despite missing some games with injury. He helped
the Bluebirds win a second straight regional championship. He was also a
key part of the 2018 Highlands' team that was Kentucky state runners-up
when he had 12 goals and 12 assists.
His junior year, Max was named Highlands's Offensive Player of the Year,
a NKAC all-star, second team all-NKY (Enquirer), second team all-region
and second team all-state. He also plays for the Kings Hammer Academy as
his club team.
His favorite athlete is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, favorite entertainer
is The Rock, favorite movie is Saving Private Ryan, favorite book is
Perry Jackson and most-like-to-meet is Chance the Rapper. Max plans to
play soccer at the next level, but has not yet committed to a college.
COACH'S QUOTE – "Max's most obvious attribute is his speed and
quickness. He does not shy away from playing physically and has the
technical skill to beat players one-on-one. All these attributes make
Max tough to defend."
— Chad Niedert, Soccer Coach
