ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Mercy senior catcher and a 4-year varsity starter, Erika Leonard is the
reigning 2-time GGCL Scarlet Softball Player of the Year. Last season Erika
led the league in batting (543 avg., 23 RBIs) for the 2nd straight year. She
was named Cincinnati Div. II Player of the Year (Enquirer), 1st team
all-city, 2nd team all-state and the region’s Softball Player of the
Year by the local Women’s Sports Association. In 2008, Erika was
selected to compete in the Club USA Tournament in Hawaii and she finished
1st in the national high school Home Run Derby. In the summer Erika competes
for the Florida Gold Coast Hurricanes, one of the best programs in the
country. A good student who gives much of her time to community service,
Erika will continue her softball career next season at Florida State
University. Her favorite athlete is Albert Pujols, favorite entertainer is
Rascal Flatts, favorite book is The Outsiders and her most-like-to-meet is
“anyone famous.”
