ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Notre Dame Academy senior Ellen Williamson is one of the premier prep
swimmers in the nation, a swimming All-American who already has earned 4
Kentucky state championships. Her sophomore year, she was state champion in
the 100 butterfly (56.15, a state record.) Last season Ellen earned 3 more
state titles (2 individual, 1 relay), setting state records in each event.
She was named NKAC Swimmer of the Year, Women’s Sports Association
Swimmer of the Year, Recorder Newspapers Sportswoman of the Year and 1st
team all-state for the third time, just to name a few. Also a scholastic
All-American and National Honor Society member, Ellen will swim next year at
the University of Virginia. She has athletic bloodlines: dad Ken was on
Northern Kentucky University’s basketball team and mom Cindy was on
Clemson University’s volleyball team. Last summer, Ellen competed in
Dublin, Ireland as a team member of the USA Youth Team, and competed in the
Junior National Championships in California. Favorite athlete is Nastia
Liukin.
