ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Senior Eric Martin is a star multi-sport athlete, though currently
out with an injury. In football, the QB this season threw for 301 yards (6
TDs) in victory over Indian Hill. As a junior, he threw for 1,514 yds. (16
TDs) and rushed for 492 yds. (8 TDs) while leading Turpin to an undefeated
10-0 league championship and 11-1 over all record. Honors included being
named 1st team all-league, 1st team all-city and 2nd team all-SWO district.
In basketball, Eric averaged 16 ppg. last season, and was named 1st team
all-conference. In baseball, he went 5-1 as a pitcher last season, with a
1.07 ERA and 53 strikeouts. He also hit .417 with 44 RBIs and 7 home runs
while being named FAVC Co-Player of the Year and 1st team all-city. A good
student active in community service, Eric will continue his baseball career
next year at the University of Tennessee. His favorite athlete is Ed Reed.
