ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Returning as running back for Elder is senior team captain Ben Coffaro,
who last season rambled for 1,124 yards (14 TDs) plus had 536 receiving
yards (4 TDs) on the way to being named team MVP. Ben was also a key member
of the 13-2 Panther squad in 2008 that was Ohio state runners-up. Ben
started strong this season, too. In a victory over Winton Woods, he notched
90 yards rushing, 137 yards (2 TDs) receiving plus set a school record with
a 98-yard kickoff return for a score. His efforts have been recognized with
numerous honors, including as a junior being named 1ST team GCL South, 1st
team all-city (Enquirer), 1st team SWO district, and 2nd team All-Ohio. Also
a good baseball player and academic honors student active in community
service, Ben’s favorite athlete is Joey Votto, favorite movie is The
Dark Knight, favorite book is The Great Gatsby and most-like-to-meet is
NFLer Ray Rice.
