ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Senior track star Robbie Scharold is the reigning regional champ in the
400, 800 and 1,600 track events, and is the defending Kentucky Class AAA
state champ in the 800 (NKY record time 1:54.54); he was also 3rd at state
in the 1,600 run and named the Enquirer’s NKY Track Athlete of the
Year. When Robbie ran a 1:52.43 800 at the World Youth Trials, he recorded
the second fastest time in Kentucky high school history. In cross country,
Robbie was NKAC champ as a junior and this year was the regional champ (NKY
record 1:59.13) and finished 6th at the Kentucky state championships. He was
named 1st team all-NKY and 1st team all-region in cross country; A good
student active in community service, Robbie will run next year at the
University of Kentucky. His favorite athlete is Drew Brees, favorite
entertainer is Adam Sandler, favorite movie is Happy Gilmore and
most-like-to-meet is Bernard Lagat.
