ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
A Mr. Kentucky Basketball candidate, Ricardo leads the defending
Kentucky state champion Bulldogs (36-2). The state title was the first in
school history and only the second basketball state championship in NKY
history. The 36 victories set a school record for a single season. Ricardo
averaged 11 ppg-6 rpg last season and has started strong this season with 21
points vs. St. Henry and 19 points vs. Memphis Central. Ricardo has earned
numerous honors, including last season NKY Player of the Year, Regional
Player of the Year, 1st team all-state (Lexington Herald Leader) and MVP of
the state tournament. He was also named NKY’s Defensive Player of the
Year. Ricardo is an honor roll student (Holmes’ 2009 English Student
of the Year) who is active in community service, and will play basketball on
scholarship next season at Ohio University. His favorite athlete is Kevin
Hart, favorite entertainer is O.J. Mayo, and most-like-to-meet is Rhianna.
