Swimming
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
This senior is a 5-year varsity swimmer, a high school All-American and
the defending Kentucky state champion in two events – the 200 IM
(1:50.73) and the 500 freestyle (4:30.23). He also was a key swimmer on
Beechwood’s Kentucky state runner-up 200 medley relay team and the 3rd
place 400 freestyle relay team. As a sophomore, Shane was the Kentucky state
runner-up in the 500 freestyle and 200 medley relay. In his great prep
career, he has been honored with numerous awards, including NKY Swimmer of
the Year, Region 4 Swimmer of the Year and was named 1st team all-state.
During the summer he swims for the Beechwood Swim Club and the Northern
Kentucky Clippers. Shane’s favorite athlete is Tiger Woods, favorite
entertainer is Dave Matthews, favorite movie is The Waterboy and
most-like-to-meet is John Wall. An honor roll student, Shane will swim on
scholarship next season at Louisiana State University.
