MVP ACCOMPLISHMENTS: This senior 6'5" pitcher is the top-rated player in Ohio this season by several scouting services, and despite ankle problems is off to a 2-0 start. As a junior, Mike went 7-4 with a 1.08 ERA, striking out 82 batters in 65 innings of work. As a sophomore, Mike went undefeated, 5-0 with a 0.20 ERA, striking out 50 batters in 35 innings pitched. During the summer, Mike played for the Midland Redskins team that won the 2007 Connie Mack World Series championship in Farmington, New Mexico. Mike has received many honors, including twice being named 1st team all-GCL South as well as being named 1st team all-city and 2nd team all-state. Mike next season will play at the University of Louisville. Active in community service, Mike's favorite athlete and most-like-to-meet is Nolan Ryan, favorite entertainer is Will Ferrell, favorite movie is The Shawshank Redemption, and favorite book is Joe: Rounding Third & Heading for Home.
