MVP ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
An academic and athletic All-American swimmer, senior Cory Chitwood is the
defending Kentucky state champ in 100 backstroke. Cory has already qualified
for the 2008 Olympic Trials in 5 events, and was the gold medal winner in the
200 backstroke at the Junior World Championships in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
"Cory is a truly amazing young person," says Coach Erin Melville. "His
accomplishments in the water are reflective of a hard work ethic and
perfectionist attitude that rival any world-class athlete." Twice Cory has
been named Northern Kentucky Swimmer of the Year and last year was named 1st
team all-state. Cory also swims for the Northern Kentucky Clippers, and holds
more than 40 club records. He comes by his talent naturally � mom Karen was a
Conner High swimming state champ and qualified for the 1980 Olympics. Active
in community service, Cory will swim next year at the University of Arizona.
