MVP ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Last week
attended special awards dinner at Jekyll Island, Georgia where
he was recognized by the American Jr. Golf Association as an honorable
mention high school All-American. Despite missing the state tournament
with back problems, this senior golfer has had a great 4-year prep
career, and has won two consecutive regional championships and
twice he was named Northern Kentucky's Most Outstanding Golfer.
During the summer, Alex won the PGA Junior Series Tournament in
Lexington. He also was medalist in the qualifying for the U.S.
Jr. Amateur Golf Tournament in Longmeadow, Massachusetts, but also
had to drop out of the national tournament because of a bad back.
He also won the Westfield Junior PGA national championship that
included players 17-and under from 36 states; Tiger Woods and Phil
Mickelson both played as teenagers in this event, but did not win
the event! Alex will play at the University of Kentucky next year.
