A four-year starter, Cincinnati Country Day's senior Kevin Yu is
gunning for another Ohio state tennis championship.
His freshman year, the doubles team of Kevin and then-senior Patrick
Wildman was sectional, district and Div. II Ohio state champions,
helping the Indians win the over all state team title for the first
time. He was named Cincinnati Div. II Tennis Player of the Year in
doubles.
Last year as a junior, Kevin went 28-4 and won another Ohio state
championship, this time in singles, and once again helped CCD win
another Ohio state over all team championship. He earned numerous
honors, including being named MVC Player of the Year and Cincinnati
Div. II Co-Player of the Year, plus he was a finalist for the Greater
Cincinnati Sports Awards in tennis.
Kevin is active in community service and is also an academic all-star
with a 4.7 GPA. His favorite athlete is David Goffin, favorite
entertainer is Tim Dunn, favorite book is Hamlet, favorite move is The
Lion King and most-like-to-meet is Ricky Dimon. Kevin plans to play
tennis collegiately but has not yet committed to a college.
