A New Balance track & field All-American, Withrow senior Niyah
Carpenter helped last year's Lady Tigers to the ECC, Regional and Ohio
Div. I team state championship for the second straight year.
She was on both of the 2015 and 2016 Ohio state champion 4x100 relay
teams and on last year's state runner-up 4x200 and 4x400 relay teams.
The 2016 4x100 relay team won the regional championship, setting a
meet-record time of 46.95.
Niyah also was 2016 ECC runner-up, district champ, regional runner-up
and third at state in the long jump (18-00.50), plus holds the indoor
record in the long jump (18-1).
Niyah has earned numerous honors, including last season being named
1st team all-conference and 1st team all-city.
Active in community service, Niyah is a National Honor Society student
with an outstanding 4.52 GPA. She will compete in track & field
collegiately at Hampton University in Virginia.
Her favorite athlete is Sanya Richards-Ross, favorite entertainer is
Taraji P. Henson, favorite book is The Color of Water, favorite movie
is Hidden Figures and most-like-to-meet is Barack Obama.
