A 4-year varsity starter in both basketball and volleyball, senior Nia McCormick is having a strong senior year on the hardwood. She is averaging about 18 points-5 rebounds-5 steals per game this season.

A point guard, Nia holds the school record for most points in a game when, earlier this year, she put up 35 points vs. Cincinnati College Prep. She has scored 1,000+ points in her varsity career.

She has also put up other big numbers, including in two games vs. Madeira when he scored 34 and 32 points, plus she hit for 30 points vs. St. Bernard and 27 points vs. Aiken. Her junior year, Nia averaged 18.0 points (3rd in the CHL), 3.8 rebounds and 4.4 steals per game. She was 1st team all-CHL, 2nd team all-city (Enquirer) and a Community Press area all-star.

Nia also is a volleyball all-star who this past season had 244 digs and earned 2nd team all-CHL honors.

Active in community service, Nia plans to play basketball at the next level, but has not yet selected a college. Her favorite athlete is Skylar Diggins and most-like-to-meet is Barack Obama.
