Cincinnati Christian School's swimming All-American Payton Keiner is
the reigning Ohio state Div. II swimming champion in the 100
backstroke (54.59), which she won last February while battling the
flu. She was also Ohio state runner-up in the 200IM.
Payton is CCS's first-ever state swimming champion and holds 10 school
records in the 100 back, 200IM plus in numerous other events. Her
junior year, she won two Div. II SWO District titles as well. She won
the 200 individual medley in 2:06.27 and the 100 backstroke in 55.62,
setting a District record.
She has started strong this season: In the prestigious Southwest Ohio
Swimming & Diving Classic, Payton won the 100 backstroke championship
in 55.62 and won the 200 backstroke in 1:59.30, a meet record.
Payton has garnered numerous honors, including last season when she
was 1st team all-conference and 1st team all-city. She has committed
to swim collegiately at Liberty University. She is a National Honor
Society student and is active in community service.
Her favorite athlete is Missy Franklin and her most-like-to-meet is
Chris Pratt.
