Senior Amir Riep, a four-year varsity starter for Colerain and one of Ohio's best defenders, helped lead the 2016 Cardinals to an 11-1 over all record and a 17th straight GMC championship. A versatile athlete, he played defensive back, punt returner and kick returner.

Though he missed a few early season games with injuries, Amir was able to get 20 tackles, a forced fumble, four INTs plus have a 20-yard average on punt returns. He was named 1st team GMC and 2nd team SWO District.

His junior year for the 12-2 state semi-finalists, he had 65 tackles, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and seven interceptions. He won numerous honors, including being named GMC Defensive Player of the Year, 1st team all-city (Enquirer), 1st team SWO District and 2nd team all-state.

A nominee to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in January, he has committed to play football collegiately at the Ohio State University.

His favorite athlete is Patrick Peterson, favorite movie is Harry Potter and favorite book is "Holes."
