One of the area's top pitchers and league-leading strikeout artist is Moeller senior Nick Bennett. Entering this season, Nick was named a Pre-season second-team All-American by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.

A left-handed pitcher, Nick was a key leader in the Crusaders' 2015 team that went 31-3 and won the school's 8th Ohio state baseball championship. Nick was a clutch performer in the Crusaders' run to the state title when he pitched a complete game 6-1 victory vs. Aurora in the state semifinals, enabling the team to move on to the Ohio state championship game.

Nick finished his junior year on the mound with a 7-1 record with 50 strikeouts, three shutouts and a 0.90 ERA in 10 games. For his accomplishments, Nick was named second-team all-Greater Catholic League South, honorable mention all-city and he was a Community Press all-star.

Nick crafted another solid year for the 20-9 Crusaders this season. He went 5-3 on the mound with a league-leading 75 strikeouts in 56.2 innings pitched, one shutout and a 2.10 ERA. He was named 1st team all-GCL.

An honor roll student, Nick will play baseball collegiately at the University of Louisville.
