Campbell County's 6'9" basketball center Matt Wilson is a 4-year
varsity starter for the District champ Camels and is the reigning 10th
Region Player of the Year.
He is a member of the 1,000+ point club and ranks in the Top 20
all-time in career rebounds in the state. Big scoring games this
season include vs. NCH (35 points), Scott (28), Augusta (27), Harrison
County (26 points) and St. Henry (24 points).
As a junior, Matt averaged a double-double (17 points-11 rebounds) and
was the District MVP each of his last two seasons. He was also a NKY
all-star and twice has been named to the 10th Region all-star team.
Matt also played two years of football and baseball for the Camels. He
is an excellent student who is active in community service. Matt will
play basketball next year at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
His favorite athlete is Paul George, favorite entertainer is John
Wayne, favorite book is Jurassic Park and most-like-to-meet is George
Strait.
