A 4-year varsity soccer starter at forward, Kayla Childs helped lead
this year's team to a 2nd straight SWOC championship, the Lady
Wildcats' first back-to-back titles in school history.
Remarkably, Kayla led the league in goals all 4 varsity years and is
the school's all-time leader in career goals scored with 105. Her
league-leading effort this year included 29 goals-6 assists (64
points). Her 29 goals this season tied (her own) single-season school
record.
Kayla has garnered numerous honors, including this year being named
SWOC Player of the Year. She has been all-conference four years in a
row and, so far, has been 1st team all-city twice.
Active in community service, Kayla will play collegiately at Eastern
Kentucky University. Her favorite athlete is Alex Morgan, favorite
entertainer is Tim McGraw, favorite book is The Great Gatsby, favorite
movie is The Last Song and most-like-to-meet is Mark Walberg.
