A swimming All-American, Ursuline senior Sydney Lofquist
helped the Lions to its 2nd straight Ohio state championship last
season.
Sydney was the individual Ohio state champion in the 200 IM (2:00.13)
and the 500 freestyle (4:46.63), and was a member of the 200 medley
relay and 400 freestyle relay teams that won state titles. The 400
freestyle relay win was in a state-record time of 3:21.89. She earned
1st team all-conference and 1st team all-city honors.
Sydney her sophomore year also won an Ohio Div. II Ohio state title in
the 200 IM swimming for Dayton Oakwood High School.
Academically, Sydney is a National Honor Society student and is active
in community service. She has committed to swim next season at the
University of Southern California.
Her favorite athlete and most-like-to-meet is Elizabeth Beisel,
favorite entertainer is Hozier, favorite book is The Glass Castle, and
favorite movie is Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
