A baseball All-American, CHCA senior right-handed pitcher Cameron Varga was named pre-season Mr. Ohio Baseball by MaxPreps.com. He has started strong this season, pitching a no-hitter (13 Ks) vs. Seven Hills.

Last season on the mound for the Div. III district champs, Cameron went 8-2, with a 0.21 ERA and 148 strikeouts in 60 innings pitched. His 148 Ks was a single-season school record, and he also holds the school record with 35 consecutive scoreless innings pitched.

Cameron has earned numerous honors, including being named 1st team All-American by AFLAC, Under Armour, Perfect Game and MaxPreps. He was also the 2013 MVC Scarlet Player of the Year, 1st team all-conference, 1st team all-city (Div. II-IV) and 1st team all-Ohio Div. III.

Active in community service, Cameron has committed to play next year at the University of North Carolina. His favorite athlete is Justin Verlander and most-like-to-meet is Nolan Ryan.
