A multi-sport athlete, in basketball, senior Malik Grove is a three
year starter at guard. He is averaging 14 ppg. this season with big
games vs. Wayne (27 points), Sycamore (24), Colerain (20) and
Princeton (17 points-10 rebounds). His junior year he averaged 12.4
per game.
In football, Malik was the Firebirds' all-star QB. This past season
for the 9-2 GMC co-champs, he threw for 1,262 yds. (9 TDs) and rushed
for 740 yds. (16 TDs). His career 2,997 yds. passing is an all-time
Lakota district record. Malik has been named 1st team all-GMC two
times and was honorable mention all-city this past season. He has
committed to play football at Notre Dame College in South Euclid,
Ohio.
Malik also bowled his freshman year, rolling a perfect 300 game and
was named GMC Bowler of the Year and 1st team all-city. He has also
competed in track. His favorite athlete is Dwayne Wade, and his
favorite entertainer and most-like-to-meet is Kevin Hart.
