At 6'-225 lbs. Lakota West senior Mikel Horton is one of the top power
runners in the area and is a 4-year varsity starter. His junior year,
Mikel ran for 1,006 yards with 13 touchdowns, including a big game vs.
LaSalle when he rambled for 240 yards and 2 TDs. Mikel earned numerous
honors last season, including being named 1st team Greater Miami
Conference, honorable mention all-city (Enquirer) and honorable
mention all-Southwest Ohio District.
He has committed to play in the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl Jan.
5 in Anaheim, California and was also nominated to play in the U.S.
Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio. Highly recruited, Mikel has
committed to play football next year at the University of Kentucky. He
also competed in track & field for the Firebirds.
Mikel's favorite athlete and most-like-to-meet is Adrian Peterson,
favorite book is I Am Third and favorite movie is Remember the Titans.
