Senior Mehvish Safdar is the only athlete in Ursuline history to win both a singles and doubles Ohio state championship in tennis. A 4-year varsity starter entering her senior season, Mehvish carries a remarkable 107-6 overall high school record.

In 2010, she was the Ohio state doubles champ with partner and sister Komal, and in 2011 she was the Ohio state singles champion. Last season she finished 3rd at state in singles. She was 36-3 overall and helped the Lions to a runner-up finish in the Ohio Div. I team tournament.

Mehvish has earned numerous honors, including three times being named 1st team all conference, 1st team all-city and 1st team all-Ohio. She was also the Enquirer's 2011 Cincinnati Div. I Player of the Year.

She holds numerous school records, including most career wins (107) and most single-season wins (36). A super student (4.0 GPA) who is active in community service, Mehvish will be playing tennis at the next level but has not yet selected a college. Her favorite athlete and most-like-to-meet is Roger Federer.
