No one has scored more runs during an Ohio prep career than Madeira's
two-sport superstar Andrew Benintendi, one of the most decorated prep
athletes ever to play in Cincinnati. And he continues to pile up
baseball records this season, already the Mustang's career leader in
hits, runs and stolen bases.
Last season Andrew hit .564 with 54 runs, 10 homeruns, 47 RBI and 23
stolen bases. On the mound, he was 6-2 with a 1.94 ERA, and 65
strikeouts.
His baseball honors included being named CHL Player of the Year,
Cincinnati Div. III Player of the Year and Ohio Div. III Player of the
Year. He will play baseball collegiately at the University of
Arkansas.
In basketball, Andrew is the school's all-time leading scorer with
1,753 points and was CHL Player of the Year and 1st team SWO district
this season and last season was Cincinnati Div. III Player of the Year
and Ohio Co-Player of the Year.
Last year as a junior, Andrew was a finalist for the LaRosa's MVP of
the Year award.
