A talented 2-sport athlete, McKell in softball last season hit .360
with 24 RBIs and a team-leading 30 runs scored. Playing 1B and 2B she
set a school record with 24 straight games without an error. She
earned numerous honors, including the 2012 9th Region Player of the
Year, 1st team all-conference and 3rd team all-state. She was also
selected to the Kentucky junior all-star team.
McKell also played varsity basketball for her mom, head coach Patti,
and scored 1,088 career points. This past season she averaged 15
ppg.-6 rpg. and was the recipient of the Loyce Meadows Award as top
the senior student-athlete basketball player in Northern Kentucky. She
was also named as a NKY Div. I all-star for the 2nd straight season.
A National Honor Society student active in community service, McKell
will play basketball next year at Taylor University in Indiana.
Her favorite athlete is Joey Votto and most-like-to-meet is Pat
Summitt.
