ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
A 4-year varsity volleyball starter, senior Abbey Bessler is the
reigning 9th region Player of the Year as named by the Kentucky
Volleyball Coaches Association. Abbey helped lead the Crusaders this
season to the Kentucky state All "A" tournament championship, the
first-ever in school history. She recorded 29 kills, 20 digs and 4
aces in the title game and was named tournament MVP. She was also
named MVP of the regional All "A" tournament. Last year, her honors
included being named to the district and regional all-tournament
teams, and she was named 1st team all-NKY (Enquirer) and Kentucky
Class A 1st team all-state.
A National Honor Society
student who is very active in community service, Abbey will join the
Xavier University volleyball team next season. Her favorite athlete
and most-like-to-meet is Kerri Walsh, favorite entertainer is Ryan
Reynolds, favorite book is Twilight, and her favorite movie is Night
at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian.
