4-year starter with 160+ career victories, Moeller senior
All-American wrestler Joey Ward is the current GCL South,
sectional, SWO district and Ohio state champion at 132
lbs. and was named 2012 GCL-South Wrestler of the Year.
His junior year, Joey wrestled at 125 lbs., going 42-9
(18 pins), and winning the sectional, district and his
first Ohio state Div. I championship, becoming the 9th
Ohio state wrestling champ in the school's history.
He was named 1st team GCL South, Suburban Life Wrestling
Sportsman of the Year and Cincinnati Div. I Wrestler of
the Year (Enquirer). A great student (4.0 GPA, National
Honor Society), Joey will wrestle next year at the University
of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. He also competed in soccer
and baseball for two years. His favorite athlete is Muhammad
Ali, favorite entertainer is Kevin Hart, favorite movies
are Rush Hour 2 and Déjà Vu, and most-like-to-meet
are Muhammad Ali and LeBron James.
