ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Fairfield senior Raeshaun Gaffney, a McDonald's All-American nominee, is
the GMC's leading scorer, averaging a double-double (27 points-10 rebounds)
per game. She has scored 1,000+ in her great prep career, and big games this
season include those against Princeton (44 points-17 rebounds), Kings (30
points-12 rebounds, and Hughes (34 points-12 rebounds). Her junior year,
Raeshaun led the GMC in scoring (27.1), assists (3.9) and steals (3.9), and
was 2nd in rebounding (8.0). She was named 1st team all-GMC, 1st team
all-city, 1st team SWO district and 2nd team all-state. Her freshman year,
Raeshaun competed on the Mt. Notre Dame team and went 27-1 and was the Ohio
state champs. A good student active in community service, Raeshaun is
secretary of National Honor Society and will continue her basketball career
next year at the University of Virginia. Her favorite athletes are Dwyane
Wade and Kobe Bryant, favorite entertainer is J. Cole, favorite book is
Hunger Games, and favorite movie is Love & Basketball.
