win vs. Ryle, this senior QB became the school's all-time passing
record holder, having thrown for 4,000+ yards in his stellar 3-year
varsity career. He also holds the school single-game passing record
(321 yards). Sam led the team to a 12-1 record last year, and this
season led his team to a 8-2 record during the regular season,
throwing for 1,544 yards (3rd in Northern Kentucky) and 22 TDs
(2nd in Northern Kentucky). In a 37-6 win vs. Pikeville, he accounted
for 4 TDs (2 rushing, 2 passing), and threw for 268 yards and 5
TDs in a win vs. Ludlow. Sam comes by his football talent naturally
-- dad Bud was a defensive end for UK in the mid-70s. A top academic
student, Sam also plays baseball for the Thoroughbreds as a pitcher.
His favorite entertainer is Chris Farley; his favorite athlete
is Michael Vick, and his most-like-to-meet is Emeril Lagasse.
