Senior Anna Cornejo is an all-star soccer player for the Div. V Ohio state champion Madeira Amazons, and is the program's all-time career assist leader. The Ohio Div. V Player of the Year and a preseason all-Ohio selection, she led the CHL in goals with 44, more than double the second place scorer. She also led in points with 107 and was second in assists with 19. A big moment this season was when she had a three-goal hat trick to beat Xenia Legacy Christian 6-0 and win the Div. V regional championship. The 'Zons then went on to beat Milford 4-1 in the Div. V state semifinals and Anna scored all four goals!

She had a star-studded junior year, too. She was the Cincinnati Hills League Player of the Year after leading the Amazons to the CHL championship and a 12-6-4 overall record. That season, she finished second in the CHL in goals (21), assists (16) and points (58). She was CHL Soccer Athlete of the Year, first team all-city Div. III (Enquirer), first-team all-SWO district, first-team all-state Div. III and was a finalist for Cincinnati High School Sports Awards Soccer Player of the Year.

She plays for Ohio Elite club team and was named All-Midwest Region by the United Soccer Coaches of America. She was also a member of the USA national team for futsal in 22-23. Futsal is similar to indoor soccer played on a hard court. She was a state qualifier in cross country for Madeira in 2021.

A great student, she is a recipient of a National Hispanic Recognition award and has logged nearly 70 hours of community service. She has committed to play soccer at the next level, at George Washington University.

Her favorite athlete is Alex Morgan, favorite entertainer is Taylor Swift, favorite book is Murder on the Orient Express, favorite movie is Mama Mia and most-like-to-meet is Tom Holland.

COACH'S QUOTE – “Anna is a first class student athlete who is driven to be successful on and off the field. Anna has the ability to take over a game at any point and prioritizes leading the way for her team.”
—Dan Brady, Varsity Soccer Coach
