Covington Catholic senior Brendan Meyer is a swimming All-American and
an Olympic Trials' qualifier. Entering this season, he already has won
9 regional swimming championships and 3 Kentucky state titles.
Last season, Brendan helped the Colonels win a Kentucky Class 2A state
title in the 400 freestyle relay in a state-record time of 3:05.72,
and he also won the individual state title in the 500 freestyle
(4:28.19). His sophomore year, he was on the 200 medley relay team
that took the state title.
At last year's regional championships, he was named MVP of the
tournament after breaking the longest-standing Region 4 record on the
books, a 28-year-old record in the 500 freestyle with a winning time
of 4 minutes, 30.18 seconds. He also won the regional 100 backstroke
and swam on the regional champion 400 freestyle and 200 medley relay
teams.
Brendan has earned numerous awards, including being named 1st team
all-state last season. Active in community service, Brendan also is a
swimming Scholastic All-American and has committed to the University
of Arizona. His favorite athlete and most-like-to-meet is LeBron James
and favorite entertainer is J. Cole.
